As it gears up to make an animated adaptation of Stranger Things with Netflix, Flying Bark has brought in Eric Vesbit to oversee production at its LA studio as a VP.

Vesbit has worked in animation for nearly three decades, getting his feet wet early on as a production supervisor at Universal and Nickelodeon/MTV Networks, and working as a line producer/producer for DreamWorks, Netflix and Titmouse more recently.

Flying Bark is getting ready to launch its proprietary feature film sequel 200% Wolf in June, building on a franchise that already includes lead pic 100% Wolf (2020) and a spinoff CG-animated series called 100% Wolf: Legend of the Moonstone. And it has started production on Tales From Outer Suburbia, an ABC-commissioned series (10 x 22 minutes) based on a bestselling illustrated short-story anthology from author Shaun Tan. This animated co-pro with Aussie studios Highly Spirited and Siamese was developed by Australian Children’s Television Foundation and is supported by Screen Australia.

With 500 artists now working in its LA and Sydney studios, Flying Bark has also produced a number of animated projects for high-profile global partners in recent years. These include Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur for Disney TV Animation (winner of three 2024 Kidscreen Awards), What if…? for Marvel and Monkie Kid for The LEGO Company. Flying Bark was acquired in 2008 by Germany’s Studio 100, which rebranded its Studio 100 Media distribution arm as Studio 100 International earlier this month.
