Moonbug Entertainment has promoted Casey Splinter from associate director to director of channels and programming, with a remit to manage the distribution of its brands and the look of its YouTube and linear channels.
Splinter joined Moonbug in 2022 and has primarily been managing the Blippi and CoComelon channel business. This promotion will see her move from LA to London, according to a LinkedIn post on her account from yesterday. Splinter previously worked at pocket.watch as a senior manager of channels and audience insights, managing the digital strategy and creative of its OTT platforms, as well as identifying kids trends and maximizing audiences.
In her new role, she’s tasked with expanding Moonbug’s already-robust channel business. Featuring content from all of its brands, the popular Moonbug Kids channel has 10.8 million subscribers on YouTube and spun off a same-name 24-hour linear net in 2019. It now broadcasts in more than 80 countries, including the Nordics through a deal with pay-TV service provider Allente that was just announced in February. Other media operators that have picked it up include OSN (Middle East), Multichoice (Africa) and Astro (Malaysia).
Splinter is an apt choice to continue driving this growth. Her career has focused on building kids channels, starting with a seven-year stint as a senior account manager at LA-based ad firm Zefr, where she oversaw the company’s efforts to reach kids on YouTube.
