Jam Filled makes senior leadership changes

EXCLUSIVE: Kyle MacDougall shifts into a new role as chairman at the Boat Rocker subsidiary, and Lori McIndoe has been promoted to succeed him as president.

Canadian animation service studio Jam Filled Entertainment (The Loud House) has rejigged its executive ranks as part of a plan to streamline operations and fuel long-term growth.

Co-founder and longtime president Kyle MacDougall (pictured left) is transitioning into a new role as chairman to oversee strategy and sales for the Boat Rocker-owned studio.

MacDougall started the company back in 2007 with Phil Lafrance and Jamie Leclaire, and became its president the following year. His 30-plus years of experience in the animation industry has also included stints at Mercury Filmworks (producer/studio manager) and Kratt Brothers Company (production supervisor).

Lori McIndoe (pictured middle) has been promoted from EVP of finance and studio operations to replace MacDougall as president. She is now heading up day-to-day operations and working with MacDougall to develop the company’s strategy. McIndoe joined Jam Filled in 2018 as VP of finance for animation service, following a 13-year run at Toronto’s Breakthrough Entertainment as a corporate controller and then director of finance.

In other exec appointments, Jam Filled has upped Tori Coulthart (pictured right) from SVP to EVP of production—a newly created role expanding her previous remit. Coulthart will continue to spearhead the company’s content slate, but she will now also support McIndoe in her broader company responsibilities. Coulthart, who joined the company in 2016, started off in the animation industry nearly two decades ago as an artist.

MacDougall and Coulthart are based at Jam Filled’s Ottawa headquarters, while McIndoe works out of Toronto. The three appointments—effective immediately—are designed to “help facilitate further opportunities and growth for the business,” noted Boat Rocker CEO John Young in a release.

Boat Rocker acquired the studio in 2016 and has previously invested in its growth by upgrading its 2D and CG animation capabilities. Jam Filled is busy working on new seasons of Dino Ranch, The Loud House, Rubble & Crew and a number of other unannounced projects.
