Josh Ganet will oversee the spring launch and global sales efforts of the toyco’s upcoming Zhu Zhu Aquarium plush and Decora Girlz dolls.

St. Louis-based Cepia Toys has tapped toy industry veteran Josh Ganet as its new chief commercial officer.

Ganet joined the toyco yesterday and reports to Cepia CEO and founder James Russell Hornsby. His remit as CCO includes leading global sales and product development for its toy portfolio, such as the relaunch of its iconic Zhu Zhu Pets electronic plush with its new Zhu Zhu Aquarium range, as well as the debut of its Decora Girlz brand of fashion dolls this spring.

Prior to joining Cepia, Ganet oversaw the global sales and consumer engagement teams at Texas-based toyco KidKraft as its SVP (2019 to 2022). His experience also includes 17 years at Mattel, where he worked his way up the ladder from senior sales research analyst to the national accounts director and director of sales in Canada before leaving in 2019.

Ganet’s hire comes as Cepia is bolstering its ranks with new hires to grow the toyco’s market presence worldwide. Last month, the company tapped former Moose Toys sales director Leslie Peck to head up North American sales. And the team is expanding with the hire of David Green as sales manager this month.
