Sesame Workshop is partnering with New York-based events company Round Room Live for the first time to develop Sesame Street Live! Say Hello, a new interactive musical stage show that will tour North America next year.
Aimed at kids ages one to seven, the 80-minute experience will feature iconic Muppets including Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby singing, dancing and encouraging the audience to get up and groove along with them.
There will also be photo opps with characters after each show, and merch stands selling Sesame Street-branded plush, light-up toys, activity books and apparel.
Sesame Street Live! launches in April with a first show scheduled at the Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine. There are already 72 confirmed bookings next year, including stops in Boston, New York, Vancouver and LA.
Round Room launched in 2016 to specialize in producing brand-based stage shows for preschoolers and kids, such as PJ Masks Live and Yo Gabba Gabba Live. Hasbro’s eOne acquired the company two years later, and it has since toured shows featuring Peppa Pig, Baby Shark (Pinkfong) and Blippi (Moonbug Entertainment). Last year, Round Room’s executives successfully completed a management buyout from Hasbro, although it’s still working with the toyco on its live tours.
