Disney Branded Television has recruited kids media veteran Jenna Boyd as SVP of development.

Boyd will oversee the scripted series development team and support an expansion of its multi-cam pipeline. She is also tasked with supervising the production of pilots for both Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Based in LA, Boyd reports to Charlie Andrews, EVP of live action and unscripted at Disney Branded TV. Her appointment was announced on October 4.

Before joining DBT, Boyd ran her own prodco Field Day Entertainment, which she set up in 2020 after a two-year stint as director of kids and family series at Netflix. She oversaw a slate of originals for the streamer, including tween/teen series like The Baby-Sitters Club (2020) and Alexa & Katie (2018).

Prior to that, she was chief content officer at STEAM-focused mediaco GoldieBlox from 2016 to 2017. And earlier in her career, she spent 18 years at Nickelodeon working in senior development roles on live-action and animated series including Avatar the Last Airbender.
