Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch are among the residents of Sesame Street who are packing their bags to go on tour across the US and Canada. Sesame Workshop has partnered with New York-based entertainment specialist Round Room Live to launch a live stage show next year featuring these Muppets. Dates, cities and ticket pricing have not yet been disclosed.
Round Room Live is well known in the industry for bringing popular kids brands to the stage, including Blippi (Blippi: The Wonderful World Tour and Blippi The Musical), Peppa Pig (Peppa Pig Live), Baby Shark (Baby Shark Live!) and Blue’s Clues (Blue’s Clues & You! Live on Stage). Right now, its immersive experiences and entertainment division is hosting an exhibition based on the Jurassic World IP (Jurassic World: The Exhibition) in Atlanta.
Location-based entertainment—one of the most engaging ways for audiences to interact with brands—has come back in full force since the pandemic. That market was valued at US$3.29 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow by more than 28% by 2030, according to US market research firm Grand View Research.
