Nicholas Hadley-Kamptz, Viaplay’s head of movies, factual and kids, is leaving the company, Viaplay confirmed on Tuesday (August 15).

Originally joining the Nordic mediaco in 2021 as head of expansion programming, Hadley-Kamptz only stepped into his most recent role in January this year. He was responsible for overseeing the content strategy for Viaplay Group Nordic TVOD, SVOD and Pay TV for movies covering kids’ content as well as documentaries.

Viaplay has acquired numerous kids series (such as a catalogue of DreamWorks titles under a deal inked last year) for its streaming service. The company’s studio arm has also produced kid-friendly originals such as The Great Escape and Karma & Jonar.

Prior to boarding the company, Hadley-Kamptz worked at organizations like TVF, IMG Media, Fox Sports International, ESPN and Turner Broadcasting over the course of a career that has spanned more than two decades.

Hadley-Kamptz is the latest departure at Viaplay, after the company announced a reduction of more than a quarter of its workforce in July. At the time, Viaplay CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann said the cuts to staff were due to economic challenges such as content investments that hadn’t paid off, and weak advertising markets and currency exchange rates.

Lindemann took over as Viaplay’s CEO earlier this summer, after Anders Jensen resigned amid an economic downturn for the company. The arrival of Lindemann also saw Viaplay introduce a new executive management structure and operating model in June, oriented around country-based management teams with full responsibility for the daily operation and strategic development of their respective businesses.
