Studio 100 Media is bringing its series FriendZSpace to the US and UK, thanks to new distribution deals with NBCUniversal’s streamer Peacock (US), VOD platform Kabillion (US) and SVOD service ITVX (UK).
Australia’s Flying Bark Productions (which is owned by Studio 100) and T&B Media Global in Thailand are co-producing the 52 x 11-minute series, which will debut this month on ITVX and later in the year on Peacock and Kabillion.
Aimed at kids ages five to nine, the show revolves around three best friends who travel to outer space to make alien friends—some of whom live on dangerous planets or are as big as skyscrapers. Dan Clark (Team Smithereen) and Oscar Covar (Tasty Tales of The Food Truckers) created the series concept, and Studio 100 holds worldwide distribution rights (excluding Thailand).
Since its delivery in 2022, FriendZSpace has been acquired by broadcasters including Discovery Kids (Latin America) and Stöð 2 (Iceland).
Studio 100, which also distributes well-known series such as Maya the Bee and Mia and me, has been busy lately lining up film distributors for its upcoming animated feature based on Johanna Spyri’s classic novel Heidi.
