First Nations Experience (FNX) has acquired the rights to air seven kids series repped by the Australian Children’s Television Foundation on its US feed.

FNX launched in 2011 and bills itself as the country’s only national broadcast television network exclusively dedicated to airing Native American and Indigenous content from around the world. Available in 29 states via 34 affiliate stations, the channel runs a four-hour kids block seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Included in the ACTF acquisition deal are seasons two and three of Little J & Big Cuz (pictured), as well as a rights re-up for season one. This 2D-animated preschool toon centers around two Indigenous Australian kids who live with their Nanna and her old dog.

On the live-action front, FNX has picked up coming-of-ager Barrumbi Kids (10 x 13 minutes), teen drama Ready for This (13 x 30 minutes), sci-fi series Thalu (10 x 15 minutes) and factual tween show Red Dirt Riders (five x 15 minutes).

The channel has also renewed its licenses for comedy-drama Double Trouble (13 x 24 minutes) and the first two seasons of preschool series Waabiny Time (21 x 26 minutes).

Past acquisitions that FNX has featured in its kids block include Coyote’s Crazy Smart Science Show from Canadian producer Loretta Todd and CATV47 puppet series Frybread Flats.
