BBC Studios Kids & Family’s coming-of-age drama Phoenix Rise (pictured, 10 x 30 minutes) is heading down under.

Toronto-based Sinking Ship Entertainment announced today that it has sold the live-action series to Australian broadcaster ABC in a deal that was finalized following the show’s debut on BBC iPlayer in March.

BBC Children’s & Education commissioned Phoenix Rise last year. It follows six teens who form an unlikely friend group as outcasts at their school in the Midlands.

This sale to ABC is part of a larger bunch of recent international broadcast deals for the Sinking Ship portfolio. Belgian pubcaster RTBF has picked up the prodco’s live-action comedy series Odd Squad, as well as teen mystery series The Unlisted from Aquarius Productions

Sinking Ship also sold seasons one and two of mixed-media series Dino Dan to Canadian channel TFO. And Bomanbridge Media, its representative in Asia, sold seasons three and four of Dino Dana—the sequel to Dino Dan—to YouKu. The first two seasons of Dino Dana, which centers on a young paleontologist-in-training, launched on the Chinese streaming platform last year.
