UK producer/distributor CAKE has partnered with Reel FX Animation in Texas to develop, produce and distribute a new CG series called Lulu and The Help You Crew that comes from a pair of creators with strong comedy pedigrees.
Targeting kids ages three to five, the 52 x 11-minute series is about an eight-year-old girl who lives with her Argentinian grandmother and a whole bunch of rescued pets. Together, they deal with overwhelming new experiences and fears. The show concept is based on The Groundlings improv alum Ariane Price’s book The Amazing Ned, and her co-creator is Bridesmaids writer Annie Mumulo.
CAKE is also developing and producing several other kids shows at the moment, including Angry Birds: Summer Madness for Netflix; Supa Team 4 with Triggerfish Animation for Netflix; Space Chickens in Space with Anima Studios for Disney; and Pablo with Paper Owl for CBeebies.
Reel FX produces animated series and features, and its most recent projects include Netflix series Super Giant Robot Brothers! (2022) and feature film Rumble with Paramount (2021).
