ZAG has inked a worldwide licensing deal with LA-based gaming hardware manufacturer Hyperkin, which will develop controllers and gaming accessories for the Miraculous franchise.

The product range will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch, and it includes three Miraculous-branded versions of Hyperkin’s Pixel Art Bluetooth controllers and three hard-shell cases to protect the console in portable mode. All six accessories will sport new artwork featuring heroes Ladybug and Cat Noir when they roll out to retailers worldwide this summer.

This marks the first time Hyperkin has inked a licensing deal for a character-driven IP. Last year, the company teamed up with Kraft Heinz to create a range of controllers and accessories based on snack brands including Kool-Aid, Lunchables, Kraft Dinner and Bagel Bites. It also has an agreement with Microsoft to make officially licensed controllers for the Xbox line of gaming consoles.

ZAG founder and CEO Jeremy Zag said in a release that the company moved Miraculous into this new category to complement its console and PC games for the IP. And according to Dublin-based Research and Markets, the global gaming hardware market is expected to generate US$6.9 billion in revenue by 2030, up 8.62% year over year from US$3.5 billion in 2022.

ZAG released its first console game title, Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx, on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation and PC last October. It was developed by Minnesota-based GameMill Entertainment and sold out on Amazon in just one day. A second Miraculous console and PC game is in pre-production.
