Magic Frame Animation (UK and Cyprus-based) and Creation Entertainment Media (UK-based) are taking viewers to a new galaxy.

The prodcos have partnered to develop and produce the new family-targeted animated film Aliens FC. The 90-minute feature follows a family who is kidnapped by aliens after being mistaken for players from a famous soccer team. The aliens take the family to their galaxy to help their home team win a championship. Sam Morrison (Peppa Pig) is the film’s screenwriter, along with writing duo Tim Clague and Danny Stack (Oddbods).

The prodcos are looking to add AI to create the alien’s world, said Lidia Chirita, head of sales and co-productions at Magic Frame Animation, in a release. They are planning to use the tech to generate elements of the film and are researching AI tools. The studios are also in talks with soccer stars to add star power to the film, the release noted.

Magic Frame and Creation Entertainment will pitch the film at the Marché du Film festival in France in May, as well as their animated family film series, Paul Martin and the Magic Magnifying Glass, which is in development. The companies previously partnered on the series Buddy Bots, which they launched at MIPJunior 2022, and the film Secret Magic Control Agency for Netflix (2021).
