Netflix is continuing to fan the flames of a teen TV resurgence, ordering a second season of live-action dramedy DI4RIES.

The series is produced by Rome-based prodco Stand By Me and follows the lives of students at an Italian middle school through the ups and downs of adolescence as they navigate first loves, feuds with friends and personal crises like parental divorce.

The new 14-ep season will launch in two parts—one in the fall of 2023 and the other in March 2024. The first season debuted on Netflix last summer, rolling out first in Italy in May and launching globally in July.

The teen TV genre is gaining steam at Netflix, where comedy-horror teen hit Wednesday, Aussie coming-of-age series Surviving Summer and LGBTQ+ love story Heartstopper have all been renewed for new seasons.

Buoyed by the genre’s rise and success of DI4RIES, Stand By Me is expanding its slate of youth content with a new tween drama series called Giò and new episodes of its ongoing series Crush for RAI Kids. The prodco has previously worked on kids series like the 2D-animated Cucciolito Show, but primarily produces documentaries, reality shows and other adult-skewing projects.
