Genius Brands International is harnessing AI tech as a primary resource for Kidaverse Fast Facts (pictured), a new educational series of two-minute shorts.
Targeting kids ages four to 11, the series centers on three smart kids—History Henry, Science Sally and Sporty Steve—who impart bite-sized knowledge on a variety of subjects.
Genius is tapping into various AI technologies to create this project, including the popular chatbot tool ChatGPT. Scripts, voices, animation and characters are all generated by AI, according to the company.
“AI is a game-changer for us, providing significant cost-efficiencies and speed to market, allowing us to expand our content initiatives and fuel our programming pipeline in a way that couldn’t have been possible before,” said Genius Networks president Todd Steinman in a release.
Kidaverse Fast Facts will initially launch on the official Genius YouTube channel and other social media platforms next month, with a wider rollout later this year on VOD and FAST channels, including Genius-owned streamers Kartoon Channel! and Ameba TV.
In related news, Canada’s Frederator Networks—which Genius acquired in 2021—has inked a content deal with Buzzfeed. The studio will develop and produce long-form series based on short-form digital IPs created by BuzzFeed Animation Lab.
The first project in the pipeline under this deal is a comedy series called The Land of Boggs, aimed at tweens and teens. It’s based on a collection of same-name 2D-animated shorts that have a combined social media audience of more than 10 million followers.
