Canada’s Cartoon Conrad Productions and Toronto’s Big Mouth Productions are co-producing and developing the popular YouTube brand Baby Big Mouth into a 2D-animated series for four- to six-year-olds.
Big Mouth Productions, creator/owner of the Baby Big Mouth IP, launched in 2013 as a YouTube channel that now boasts 10.4 million subscribers worldwide and features a mix of roughly 200 sing-along and educational videos. The series concept will flesh out the IP’s original characters and tell stories driven by the daily ups and downs of living in the town of Surpriseland.
The plan is to roll out a 10 x three-minute short series first in fall 2023, and then follow up with a full series of 11-minute episodes. Cartoon Conrad is currently in the market for broadcasters and distributors.
This expansion into TV is just one facet of a larger growth plan for Baby Big Mouth. Big Mouth Productions is also working on a music album, Baby Big Mouth, that will be released in tandem with the short series in the fall. And a new season of The Baby Big Mouth Podcast, which launched in 2020, is expected to be ready for release later this year.
Cartoon Conrad already has experience with digital-first kids brands. The animation service company has worked with Toronto-based Headspinner Productions on series such as Denis and Me and Gisele’s Mashup Adventures, which are TV vehicles for YouTubers Denis Kopotun and Gisele Corinthios, respectively.
