With factual sensation Drive to Survive fuelling F1 fever in the US market, American Spanish-language broadcaster V-Me Media is hoping to pick up speed by acquiring the rights to an animated series from Italy with kid drivers as its star characters.
Italian producer/distributor Mondo TV has inked a deal with V-Me for The Drakers (pictured, 26 x 26 minutes), which it has co-produced with Ferrari. The show is aimed at kids ages six to 10 and follows two young Formula 1 drivers who are on a mission to become track champions.
The acquisition also includes the season two of the animated series Bat Pat (52 x 11 minutes), a co-pro with Atlantyca Entertainment and RAI Ragazzi in Italy and Spain’s RTVE; and two seasons of Dinofroz (52 x 26 minutes), a collaboration with Italian toyco Giochi Preziosi. Both series are for kids ages six and up.
All three shows have been licensed for three years, and will premiere at some point on Primo TV.
