New York-based Canela Media has expanded its content offering on AVOD Canela Kids through a newly inked deal with Italian producer/distributor Mondo TV Studios.
Included in the buy are Spanish-language versions of four Mondo titles, including the first season of 2D-animated series MeteoHeroes (52 x seven minutes); two seasons of live-action tween drama Heidi Bienvenida (120 x 45 minutes); and 2D-animated comedy Bat Pat 2 (52 x 11 minutes). Rounding out the package deal is season one of 2D-animated comedy series Nina & Olga (52 x seven minutes, pictured), which will make its Spanish-language debut on Canela Kids.
The Mondo content will roll out in December on the AVOD’s services in the US and Latin America. Since launching in August, Canela Kids has picked up more than 1,500 hours of content for its Latino kids audience, including Moonbug’s preschool toon CoComelon; pocket.watch’s live-action series Kids Diana Show Ultimate Mishmash; and a range of classic titles like Barney and Garfield.
This is the latest in a series of deals Mondo has signed this year to extend the reach of its content in the US and LatAm markets. In October, the company inked a multi-territory deal with Paramount Global’s AVOD Pluto TV to stream several of its shows in Latin America and Italy. And later that same month, Mondo signed on to distribute 2D-animated adventure series Leo’s World (Brand Cross) and CG-animated comedy The Tales of the Wonder Keepers (Henan York Animation, iQIYI) internationally.
