London-based Moonbug Entertainment is continuing to bolster the strength of its IPs in the Middle East with a local linear preschool channel in Turkey.
The new Moonbug Kids net is set to launch in November and will operate through two of the country’s leading television providers, Tivibu and TV+. It stands to reach approximately 2.6 million paid subscribers across the two platforms.
The new channel will feature IPs from Moonbug’s preschool portfolio including CoComelon, Blippi and ARPO, as well as more recent acquisitions such as CG-animated musical series Little Angel and comedy shorts Oddbods.
This is the latest in a series of launches in the Middle East region, said EMEA and APAC managing director Nicolas Eglau in a release. Behind only the UK, Turkey is the second-best market for Moonbug’s portfolio of IPs on YouTube, according to the company.
In September, the UK-based company inked a deal with African broadcaster MultiChoice to run Moonbug Kids across linear, satellite and OTT services in Africa. It will launch later this month in 45 African countries, reaching more than 21 million subscribers.
