Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is still months away from its 2023 debut, but Disney Branded TV has already greenlit a second season.

Based on Marvel’s comic book franchise, the 2D-animated series is produced by Disney Television Animation and follows a brainy 13-year-old girl who accidentally brings a brawny T-Rex into present-day New York City.

The second-season renewal of Moon Girl was announced at a New York Comic Con panel last week. Season one is slated to launch February 10 on Disney Channel and Disney+, coinciding with the release of an official soundtrack from Walt Disney Records. Consumer products based on the series, including toys and apparel, will hit retail shelves next summer.

Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland are executive producing the project under their Cinema Gypsy Productions (black-ish) banner, alongside Steve Loter (Kim Possible). Rodney Clouden, Pilar Flynn and Kate Kondell will join the EP team for the second season, with Halima Lucas, Ben Juwono and Rafael Chaidez attached as producers. Kondell and Lucas will also serve as story editors.

In May, Disney Television Animation teamed up with Fishburne for another book-based series in development, Cookies & Milk. Cinema Gypsy will executive produce this upcoming adaptation of a middle-grade novel written by Shawn Amos and published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
