German kids streaming service Kixi has bought a package of series, movies and specials from Toronto’s Nelvana, significantly expanding its offering.
The content will roll out over the course of this month and includes preschool series Franklin (26 x 22 minutes), 2011 spinoff Franklin and Friends (52 x 22 minutes), Franklin’s Magic Christmas special (2001) and the movie Back to School with Franklin (2003).
Also part of the acquisition package are: Max & Ruby (64 x 22 minutes); Babar and the Adventures of Badou (39 x 22 minutes) and companion film Babar: The Movie (1989); and CG-animated kidlit adaptations Jacob Two-Two (26 x 22 minutes – pictured), Jane and the Dragon (26 x 22 minutes), Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends (43 x 22 minutes) and Pearlie (26 x 22 minutes).
Kixi has been busy building its catalogue lately, most recently picking up Sinking Ship’s live-action series Odd Squad. The SVOD, which launched in 2011, now has more than 1,000 international and local series, movies and specials available.
