Toronto’s Sinking Ship Entertainment is poised to reach audiences in the UK, Mexico and Germany, thanks to three new linear TV distribution deals.

UK children’s channel POP and Canal Once in Mexico have picked up CG-animated series Annedroids, while Germany’s Kixi has acquired live-actioner Odd Squad.

Annedroids (52 x 22 minutes) targets kids ages six to nine with the story of an 11-year-old scientist who builds robots and conducts experiments with them in a secret junkyard laboratory. The show premiered in 2014 on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and the US. And more recently, Sinking Ship signed an extensive deal with MultiChoice Group’s Showmax in 2020 to air four seasons of Annedroids and Odd Squad seasons one and two in sub-Saharan Africa.

Speaking of Odd Squad (114 x 22 minutes), this series for four- to eight-year-olds stars a group of young government agents who use math to investigate and solve strange occurrences in their hometown. Since the show premiered in 2014 on Canada’s TVOKids and PBS KIDS in the US, the Odd Squad brand has grown to include a 2016 feature film, consumer products, interactive games and podcasts.

In March, France Télévisions picked up Odd Squad‘s first season, which starting airing in March on linear channel France 4 and its streamer Okoo. And last year, WarnerMedia acquired seasons one and two for broadcast in Latin America on HBO Max.
