Netflix has greenlit a new 2D-animated series based on YouTuber James Rallison’s TheOdd1sOut brand, and is producing it with Atomic Cartoons for a 2022 premiere.

Created by Rallison and writer/producer Ethan Banville (Terrific Trucks), the 12 x 15-minute series for kids and families stars a boy loosely based on Rallison who goes on comedic rants fuelled by everyday annoyances. Also along for the ride are his best friends—a talking crocodile named Max, and a girl named Echo who claims that she’s from the future.

Rallison’s TheOdd1sOut YouTube channel has been active since 2014 and currently boasts 17.8 million subscribers. Its videos feature marshmallow-esque characters, animated by Rallison, who cover a variety of topics relating to his life experiences and opinions.

Rallison and Banville are exec producing Oddballs with Carl Faruolo, Michael Zoumas, Jennifer Twiner-McCarron, Matthew Berkowitz and Aaron Behl.
