The fictional conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons has been playing out for nearly 40 years since Hasbro’s iconic transforming toy brand launched in 1984.
And now, Hasbro subsidiary eOne has created an opportunity for fans to watch it all on a new 24/7 streaming channel that launched this week on AVOD platform Pluto TV.
Transformers TV is offering more than 200 hours of content, including recent series such as Transformers: Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures (2018), Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) and Transformers: Prime (2010).
The new channel rollout comes as Hasbro and eOne gear up to expand the Transformers universe once again. The franchise’s latest CG-animated series, Transformers: EarthSpark, is set to premiere on Paramount+ in November; and PG-13 feature Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is slated for theatrical release in June 2023.
The brand is also about to expand in the travel & tourism market. At Licensing Expo 2022, Hasbro’s showcase included a sneak-peek of its Transformers/My Little Pony hotel in Shanghai, China, which will feature 46 themed rooms and a three-story entertainment facility full of games and miniature theme parks for families when it opens in Q4.
Pluto TV launched in August 2013 and was acquired by Paramount Global in 2019 for US$340 million. According to the company, it has more than 67 million monthly active users and is offered in 30-plus countries and territories.
