Israeli toyco PMI is on deck to roll out toys, plush and stationery products for upcoming CG-animated movie Spellbound (pictured) from Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation.
No release date is set yet for this music-driven fantasy pic, which tells the story of a young girl who sets out on a quest to break a spell that has left her kingdom divided. Spellbound is directed by Vicky Jenson (Shrek) and written by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin and Linda Woolverton. Its score will come from Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), with lyrics by Glenn Slater (Tangled).
PMI’s product range for the big-screen IP will include craft, activity and play sets; plush; backpacks; capsule toys; stampers, pencil cases, toppers and erasers; keychains and a branded card game. The licensing agreement between the toyco and Skydance was brokered by IMG.
Apple and Skydance Animation are also collaborating on the new CG-animated movie Luck, which is set to launch August 5 on Apple TV+.
