LA-based events company Kilburn Live and toyco Mattel are partnering to launch a new interactive exhibition that will bring Barbie’s historic playsets and vehicles to life.
The World of Barbie North American tour launches this summer in Toronto, before travelling to US cities including New York, Chicago, Houston and LA in 2023. Tickets for the Toronto exhibition will go on sale May 21, with advance ticket registration opening today.
World of Barbie is designed to let guests of all ages interact with environments inspired by Barbie’s playsets. As part of the event experience, they can do things like host a party at the Dreamhouse and find hidden surprises in Barbie’s life-size camper van.
The exhibition will also have attractions focused on the many careers of Barbie, who has worked as a news anchor, a fashion model and an astronaut over the decades.
A Barbie-themed café will be available on-site for guests to purchase snacks and drinks and see how the doll brand has evolved.
Kilburn Live has previously partnered with companies such as Hasbro and Dr. Seuss Enterprises to create live entertainment attractions including The Dr. Seuss Adventure and NERF Challenge.
The company’s first arcade gaming attraction, The Game Room: Powered By Hasbro, will open later this year at the American Dream retail complex in New Jersey.
