Disney Branded Television has restructured its unscripted and non-fiction staff into three dedicated content teams—Disney Original Documentary, Disney Branded Television Unscripted, and Disney Branded Television Partnerships and Kids. It has also promoted five execs to run them.
Claire McCabe (pictured), who has spent more than 22 years executive producing live specials, documentaries, game shows, music specials and short-form content, has been upped from VP of kids alternative programming to VP of the new Brand Partnerships and Kids unit. And Meghan de Boer moves up to executive director on that same team. De Boer joined Disney in 2008 as a producer for the Disney/ABC Digital Studio, and was part of the Disney+ launch team, driving strategy for variety programming and specials. In her new role, she’ll create storytelling that leverages Disney IPs, and develop projects for young audiences.
Marjon Javadi has been named VP of Disney Documentary Films and Docuseries. She’s been with Disney since 2019 as director of documentaries, and previously worked in funding at Doc Society and helped build the Netflix Originals documentary unit. In her new role, Javadi will work with filmmakers on real stories with aspirational and optimistic themes for Disney+.
Nicole Silveira, who also came aboard in 2019 as part of the Disney+ launch team, has been appointed VP of Disney Branded TelevisionUnscripted. She’ll be responsible for creating original unscripted content for a global audience. Silveira previously worked for Pilgrim Media Group and served as a development executive at ITV. She was also with NBCUniversal for nearly a decade, developing and launching The Sing-Off, Minute to Win It and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.
And finally, Jordan Gilbert has been promoted from director of original programming to executive director of Disney Branded Television Unscripted. His remit is to create original unscripted content with global appeal for Disney+.
All three teams report in to Marc Buhaj, VP of Unscripted and Nonfiction, under the leadership of Charlie Andrews as EVP of Live Action and Alternative Series.
