Former Universal exec Bardo Ramirez has been appointed as VP of studio strategy and operations at Disney Branded Television.
The hire marks a return to Disney for Ramirez, who worked there from 2004 to 2016 in a variety of roles including executive producer of the creative studio at Walt Disney Imagineering and director of production at Disneytoon Studios. The veteran producer has also developed creative content for theme parks and produced Broadway plays and musicals.
Ramirez will now head up strategic planning, production resource management, physical delivery and workplace culture initiatives for Disney Television Animation, which produces animated content for Disney+ and Disney’s branded channels. He will report to SVP of operations and content planning David Cobb, who was promoted into his role earlier this year.
Along with the addition of Ramirez, Disney has also promoted Chris Hutchison to VP of production at Disney Branded Television. Overseeing the production management of Disney Junior content specifically, he reports to Sarah Finn, SVP of production at Disney Television Animation.
Hutchison has worked at Disney since 2009 and was bumped up from executive director of production at Disney Television Animation. In this role, he oversaw production on Disney Junior and Disney Channel shows such as Doc McStuffins, Muppet Babies and Big City Greens.
