9 Story Distribution International has inked three new broadcast deals for puppet series Donkey Hodie from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures.

TVOKids (Canada), Canal Panda (Spain) and Ejunior (UAE) have all picked up the 80 x 11-minute adventure series in the wake of its premiere on PBS KIDS last May. Aimed at preschoolers and inspired by characters created by Fred Rogers, the show focuses on its enthusiastic mule protagonist as she learns new things and figures out how to solve problems with her friends.

PBS KIDS ordered a second season of the series earlier this month, and 9 Story is managing global distribution (outside the US) and merchandising (everywhere except the US and Canada).

LA-based Jada Toys came on board as Donkey Hodie’s master toy partner a few months ago, and is planning  to launch figures, plush and playsets in spring 2023. WarnerMusic Group’s Arts Music division also recently partnered with Fred Rogers Productions to make an album based on the series.
