Consumers looking for a break in the cost of Disney+ can look forward to a lower-priced ad-supported viewing option that’s set to debut later this year.

The premium-content streamer is expanding its subscription menu with a new tier as part of its efforts to hit 230 million to 260 million subscribers by 2024. It will initially launch in the US this year and roll out internationally by 2023.

The monthly price of the new service has not been released, but it will be lower than the ad-free tier at US$7.99 per month, and it will carry all Disney+ content—including titles from Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic.

Disney is already in-market with an AVOD option for Hulu, which offers an ad-supported tier at about half the cost of the ad-free version. It also operates SVOD ESPN+.
