NBCUniversal’s streamer has picked up Cyber Group Studios’ upcoming CG-animated series Press Start! to launch in the US.

Based on a book series of the same name from Scholastic, this comedy-adventure for five- to seven-year-olds revolves around a pair of siblings who are able to enter their favorite video game and help one of its characters save the action-packed world from villains. Scott Kraft (PAW Patrol) is executive producing for Cyber Group, and the series is expected to launch on Peacock in Q4 2023.

Scholastic’s 11-book series penned by Thomas Flintham has sold more than two million copies in the US since its first title was published in 2017.

Cyber Group announced the adaptation in 2020, and then teamed up with Retail Monster last year to develop a US licensing program for the series.

This latest Peacock acquisition will join a lineup that already includes DreamWorks series Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky, Dark Slope’s Babble Bop! and Terrific Television’s The Makery.
