Indian pay-TV channel Colors Tamil has rolled out a daily Tamil-language programming block for kids and families featuring two local Nickelodeon titles.
The Nick Neram block launched on January 24 and features Golmaal Jr. and Rudra: Boom Chik Chik Boom, both which are produced by Nick India, where they originally aired.
Golmaal Jr. is a spinoff from 2017’s four-part Bollywood film series Golmaal. Rohit Shetty directed the movies and created the kids series, which premiered in 2018. The show focuses on a rivalry between two students who play pranks on one another with their friends.
Rudra: Boom Chik Chik Boom stars a nine-year-old magician who is just learning how to use and control his supernatural powers. This series debuted on Nick India in 2018 and is produced by Green Gold Animation for Nickelodeon.
Colors Tamil launched in February 2018 and has quickly become one of the region’s fastest-growing entertainment channels for Tamil-speaking viewers. Nickelodeon India and Colors Tamil are both owned by parent company Viacom18.
