Cheryl Taylor, former head of content at BBC Children’s, has joined Banijay’s Zodiak Kids and Family Studio UK as creative director.

The prodco, which is behind long-running 2D-animated seriesĀ Totally Spies!, has tapped Taylor to start this month, reporting to Banijay Kids and Family CEO Benoit Di Sabatino and Zodiak Kids and Family UK COO Gwen Hughes. She will replace Steven Andrew (Secret Life of Boys), who is retiring this spring from the creative director position he has held since 2011.

Taylor left the Beeb in April 2021 after 15 years, most recently overseeing content for children ages zero to 12 on CBeebies, CBBC and the VOD platform BBC iPlayer. Earlier in her career with the pubcaster, she commissioned comedy programming.

Zodiak Kids and Family has been ramping up a fair bit of new content recently, signing a deal to develop a preschool series based on Julia Donaldson’s What the Ladybird Heard book series, and producing upcoming series such as Mumfie—which hasĀ pre-sold to German broadcaster KiKa—and sci-fi drama Silverpoint for CBBC.
