Disney has greenlit a musical film spinoff for Disney Channel and Disney+ based on its animated comedy series Big City Greens.

Creators and executive producers Chris and Shane Houghton will continue working on the TV show as well as the new movie—which doesn’t have a title yet—with Michael Coughlin (The Muppets) as producer and Stephen Sandoval (The Owl House) as co-executive producer.

Disney also renewed Big City Greens for a fourth season, which will see the series hit a 100-episode milestone. Season three is set to premiere February 12 on Disney Channel, but release dates for the film and fourth season had not been announced at press time.

A 2D-animated series for kids ages six to nine, Big City Greens follows 10-year old Cricket Green (voiced by Chris Houghton) as he moves from the country to the big city with his family. It premiered in 2018 with 30 half hours produced by Disney Television Animation, and has since become one of Disney’s most popular shows, generaing more than 300 million views across social and digital channels.
