Animation studio ZAG has recruited Maria Doolan to serve as its first-ever VP of TV content. The former Zinkia exec will now oversee all of ZAG’s platforms, as well as its Heroez label.

Starting today, Doolan is responsible for global content distribution strategy, including television, home entertainment and digital media releases. She’ll also work closely with ZAG’s consumer products team and global partners to launch new TV shows under the ZAG Heroez umbrella, said company founder and CEO Jeremy Zag in a release.

The catalogue Doolan is taking over includes Ghostforce (recently acquired by Disney Channels US) and MiraculousTales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. She will also work closely with ZAG’s frequent content partner ON kids & family, as well as contributing strategically to all future ZAG properties.

Doolan has more than 17 years of experience managing, marketing and selling kids TV brands for Spanish prodco Zinkia Entertainment. She most recently held a global head of international TV distribution and co-productions position that saw her develop partnerships with multinational players.

ZAG has been doing quite a lot of team-building recently, though the focus has been on consumer products. In September, the company expanded EVP of global operations Julian Zag’s portfolio to include a head of global consumer products role, just one month after hiring former ViacomCBS exec Marifely Argüello Montealegre as VP of product development for the US and LatAm.
