New York-based distributor and streaming network Filmrise has inked a deal with 9 Story Distribution International to add three kids shows to its AVOD platform in North America.
The non-exclusive deal includes Barney & Friends (season 10 to 14) Angelina Ballerina (seasons one to four) and Camp Lakebottom (seasons one to three) and collectively totals 184 episodes.
Featuring the titular and iconic purple T-Rex dinosaur, preschool show Barney & Friends (pictured) originally aired on PBS in 1992 and ran until 2010. British animated preschool series Angelina Ballerina, meanwhile, had an eight-year run from 2001 to 2009. It originally aired as a 2D series, but got a CGI makeover in 2009.
Finally, Toronto-based 9 Story Media Group’s animated comedy Camp Lakebottom premiered in 2013 on Teletoon Canada and Disney XD in the US. It was subsequently acquired by Disney Channels (LatAm, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, MEA and Japan), ABC TV (Australia), Super RTL (Germany) and Canal+ Family (France and Africa).
Since entering the kids distribution market last year, Filmrise has secured deals with Nelvana and kid-skewing YouTubers via a partnership with talent agency Night Media.
