Season two (also 10 x 11-minutes) is scheduled to drop on October 28 in the US, UK, Canada and Japan, followed by Germany on November 4.
Tie-in products such as the Monkey King Warrior Mech set and the Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain set will be available on Amazon in the US and Canada later this fall. (Pricing details were not available at press time.) Amazon Kids+ subscribers will also get access to an exclusive Monkie Kid background and avatar for Amazon Fire Kids tablets starting in October.
The LEGO Monkie Kid IP launched in China in May 2020, and was the first-ever theme from the toyco to be inspired by a Chinese legend. The Monkey King is one of the most recognizable heroes in Chinese culture, and the show puts a new spin on the legendary tale by adding an “untold” chapter. Produced by Australia’s Flying Bark Productions, the first season of LEGO Monkie Kid has aired on TV3 (Malaysia) and Channel 9 (Australia).
Since Amazon Kids+ launched a year ago, its programming focus has been on hit viral content. The platform has picked up a spinoff of Pocket.watch’s Ryan’s World franchise called Super Spy Ryan, as well as several extensions of Moonbug brands including Arpo Robot Babysitter and Blippi’s Treehouse.
