Distributors NCircle Entertainment and Mill Creek Entertainment have jointly signed a multi-year physical and digital distribution agreement with Mattel.
Together, the indie companies will distribute DVD versions of several Mattel series and specials to retailers, as well as working on securing digital pay-per-view and on-demand deals for the brands. Covering Canada and the US, the deal spans specials Barbie Dreamtopia, Barbie Princess Adventure, Barbie & Chelsea: The Lost Birthday (pictured) and Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams; and TV series Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures (seasons one and two), Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go (seasons 25 and 25, and all corresponding specials), Masters of the Universe: Revelation and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures season one will be available on DVD and digital-on-demand on November 16, and Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go will roll out December 7 on DVD. No additional details about distribution channels for these shows were available at press time.
Mill Creek specializes in Blu-ray, DVD and digital distribution, with direct pipelines to more than 30,000 retail stores and websites in North America. And NCircle focuses on children’s and family entertainment distribution for shows like Cyber Group’s Gigantosaurus and Genius Brands’ Llama Llama. NCircle’s parent company Alliance acquired Mill Creek two years ago, and merged the two into one distribution company, with NCircle acting as the children’s distribution division.
