LA-based Curiosity Ink Media and Germany’s Toon2Tango are teaming up to produce animated series Baldwin’s Big Adventure.
The preschool show is about a young train who goes on a quest to reunite with his father. Toon2Tango (Agent 203) will co-develop, co-produce and distribute it internationally. The format for the series has not been finalized, but the studios are working towards half-hour episodes made up of two 11-minute instalments.
Baldwin’s Big Adventure will also be released on Grom Social, a social media platform for kids under 13, which acquired Curiosity Ink in April.
As part of its brand expansion plans, Curiosity Ink has also partnered with New Jersey-based Dynamite Entertainment to publish kids books, starting with Baldwin’s Big Adventure in spring 2022. The companies will also develop books for third parties, including a PAW Patrol activity book for Spin Master.
And lastly, Curiosity Ink and Missouri-based toyco Cepia have teamed up to develop and produce an original non-dialogue preschool series based on Cepia’s Cats vs. Pickles toy brand, which revolves around pickles who just want to get along with the cats who are scared of them. Cepia has already expanded the IP with plush, a mobile game and several short YouTube videos. The partners are also collaborating on Cats vs. Pickles books that will start launching in 2022.
