ViacomCBS Networks Americas has picked up Zumbar, a new preschool edutainment series that’s pegged to air on Nick Jr. and SVOD Paramount+.
Produced by MobiusLab Kids—the children’s division of Spanish-language entertainment company Cisneros Media—the 26 x five-minute interactive show blends live action and animation in stories featuring six kids who help preschoolers learn about a range of topics from animals and yoga, to cooking and friendship. It also includes challenges, lip-syncs, memes and dances.
Already airing on Nick Jr. Mexico and Colombia, Zumbar will premiere June 2 on Nick Jr. Brazil before making its way onto Paramount+ in the region later this month.
Local kids content has been a major focus for ViacomCBS in Latin America lately. In April, ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) acquired broadcast channel Chilevisión from WarnerMedia to help drive more local content to Paramount+ and AVOD service Pluto TV. Meanwhile, Viacom International Studios signed a development deal with Argentinian cartoonist Ricardo Liniers Siri, and VCNI launched a new program for underrepresented creators in the region.
