Canada’s WildBrain has signed a new multi-faceted partnership with Headspinner for its Denis and Me animated series.

The company’s Family Channel network will premiere the first season (10 x three minutes) this summer, followed by the second (20 x three minutes) in the fall. The second season is in production now with financial support from the Shaw Rocket Fund.

WildBrain has also picked up global distribution rights to the series, and its WildBrain Spark AVOD unit will take over management of the Denis and Me YouTube channel worldwide, including direct advertising sales.

Targeting kids ages six to 11, the toon is driven by the exploits of Denis and his enterprising feline best friend Sir Meows A Lot. Denis and Me launched on YouTube in December 2020 and has amassed 320,000 subscribers and 20 million views so far.

The show was co-created by Diana Moore and Denis Kopotun, who is also voicing its main character. Kopotun, who inspired Denis and Me, rose to prominence on YouTube and currently has nine million subscribers on his channel.

Headspinner’s Michelle Melanson and Ken Cuperus are executive producing, along with Moore, who’s also serving as showrunner.
