Harold Chizick to head up sales & CP at Genius Brands

The ChizComm CEO takes on oversight of GBI's content sales, licensing and marketing teams.

Genius Brands International has tapped ChizComm CEO Harold Chizick to serve as its president of global content sales, marketing and consumer products.

Chizick started in the new role this week and is responsible for steering the company’s licensing business, distributing its brands, and managing the Kartoon Channel OTT platform. Chizick will continue to run marketing subsidiaries ChizComm and ChizComm Beacon Media, which GBI acquired in November 2020.

Chizick co-founded ChizComm in 2013 with his wife Jennifer, and the company’s client list now includes toycos such as MGA Entertainment, Jakks Pacific and Jazwares. He previously served as VP of global communications and promotions for Spin Master, and VP of marketing for Mega Brands.

It has been a busy spring for Genius Brands, which recently licensed Stan Lee’s likeness to Marvel, as well as selling season one of its animated preschool series Rainbow Rangers to Netflix. The LA-based prodco also set up a partnership with Tankee to generate more original content for Kartoon Channel.
