LA’s Nicely Entertainment has hired former NENT Studios SVP Scott Kirkpatrick as its first EVP of distribution and co-productions.

Kirkpatrick started in his new post on April 5, and is responsible for overseeing pre-sales, distributing Nicely’s completed TV movies, and inking co-pro deals for its scripted TV series.

Kirkpatrick previously spent nearly six years at NENT Studios in the UK as SVP of sales and business development. He oversaw the company’s VOD strategy and signed a number of broadcast and co-production deals for projects such as BBC’s The Cry and ITV’s Manhunt. Earlier in his career, he was an executive director of distribution at MarVista Entertainment, VP of sales and media brokerage at ICAP Media, and director of international sales for Bennett Media Worldwide.

Nicely Entertainment just opened its doors a year ago. The studio’s first project is Dive Club, which is set to launch this year on Netflix and Australia’s Network 10. Nicely co-produced this 12-episode live-action series with Aussie prodco The Steve Jaggi Company.

Next up in its pipeline is YA adventure series Folktellers (10 x 22 minutes), which is in development with Peter Mohan (The Hardy Boys) and based on the Folktellers: The Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook book series. Nicely is also lining up a string of holiday and romance movies for family audiences, including Christmas in Crumbs and Wedding Cake Dreams, which it plans on presenting at MIPTV.
