ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has acquired Latin American broadcast channel Chilevisión from WarnerMedia.

The deal terms haven’t been disclosed, but it covers all of Chilevisión’s brands and assets, including a multi-genre content library featuring sports, entertainment and news programming. Last year, the channel had a 24% audience share in the region.

The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval and closing conditions, will be financed with existing cash balances from ViacomCBS.

VCNI plans to use this buy to grow its portfolio of Spanish-language content, for which there’s a growing demand on SVOD Paramount+, as well as on its own Pluto TV AVOD service. Chilevisión should also help the company bolster its presence in the Southern Cone of Latin America. According to VCNI president and CEO Raffaele Annecchino in a press release, LatAm is currently one of the fastest-growing streaming markets in the world.
