LA-based edutainment company Encantos has brought in Scott Traylor as its new chief product officer, with responsibility for overseeing product development and supporting its go-to-market strategies.
Prior to joining the Encantos team in March, Traylor founded tech company 360KID and worked as a strategic consultant. Over the course of his career, he has created products for companies such as Sesame Workshop, Scholastic and PBS KIDS.
Encantos is on a mission to expand its online and physical edtech business, and hired Keith Elliott as chief technology officer in January. Both Elliott and Traylor report to CEO Steven Wolfe Pereira.
Last year, Encantos raised US$2 million in seed funding with investments from Kapor Capital, Boston Meridian Partners, Chingona Ventures, the Goldhirsh Foundation, Human Ventures and MathCapital. The company has used the funds to focus on subscription services for preschool and primary-school children that deliver digital experiences as well as hands-on physical activities.
