LEGO
The LEGO Foundation has partnered with UK-based Play Included to train teachers and psychologists on how to use LEGO for therapeutic purposes for neurodivergent kids, as part of LEGO’s Brick-by-Brick program.
As part of the expansion, the companies are creating new tools to track kids’ progress; launching studies to explore how play helps kids with ADHD, anxiety and trauma; and building new training resources to improve the program’s reach and effectiveness. How-to guides and refreshed training protocols will be ready by the end of 2021.
Brick-by-Brick is focused on helping neurodivergent kids ages five to 18 use LEGO bricks to socialize and express themselves. The program also helps schools form Brick Clubs where kids can work together to create their own LEGO creations in small teams.
