Spin Master is strengthening its entertainment team with a couple of key promotions.
Laura Clunie (pictured, left) has been upped from VP of development and creative director to SVP of development and feature film. Continuing to oversee the development team and creative strategy for short- and long-form content, she will now also oversee Spin Master’s feature film slate and produce greenlit projects. Prior to joining the company six years ago, Clunie worked at Entertainment One.
Toni Stevens (pictured, right) has also been promoted from director of production and supervising producer to SVP of production and operations. She will maintain oversight of production and entertainment planning, including feature films. Stevens joined Spin Master in 2016, serving as a supervising producer for Nelvana before that.
Dan Mokriy has been named VP of production and is responsible for delivering best-in-class programming that delivers on the company’s creative vision. And Jonah Stroh was promoted to VP of creative production, with responsibility for creative deliverables on all current series, and two new shows in development. He will also focus on collaboration between the company’s entertainment and toy departments, coordinating with franchise management and marketing.
These promotions come on the heels of Max Rangel being named Spin Master’s global president in late 2020. Starting in April, Rangel will also add CEO responsibilities to his remit. Jennifer Dodge, previously EVP of entertainment, took on her new role as president of Spin Master entertainment in December at the same time that Chris Beardall, previously EVP of global sales, was named president of the toy business.
