Zodiak Kids Studios is cooking up a new live-action show for seven to 12s based on the Cookie book series, written and illustrated by Konnie Huq.

Cookie and the Most Annoying Boy in the World was published by Piccadilly Press in 2019, followed by Cookie and the Most Annoying Girl in the World last year. The two title have collectively sold more than 60,000 copies in the UK.

The working title for the live-action series, Cookie!, is inspired by the eponymous character—a young British-Bangladeshi girl with an overactive imagination and an obsession with science.

Huq will co-executive produce the show with Zodiak Kids’ Steven Andrew and Terrible Productions’ James Farrell. Zodiak Kids is handling international distribution.

Last month, Zodiak Kids inked a co-pro and global distribution deal with LA-based studio Bureau of Magic for its original series Save the Legends!.
