Children’s TV host hangs production shingle

EXCLUSIVE: Ben Faulks, a.k.a. CBeebies' Mr. Bloom, has launched Egg Power Productions and is developing and starring in its first project.
February 16, 2021

Ben Faulks, co-creator and star of Mr. Bloom’s Nursery on CBeebies, is launching a new UK production company called Egg Power Productions that will kick off with a 52 x seven-minute series called A Mug of Tea with Emory.

In development for kids ages three to seven, the live-actioner is hosted by Faulks (pictured), and each ep takes place during an imaginative tea break. So far, a full-length pilot has been produced.

Once this first project is a bit further down the pipeline, Egg Power plans to focus on developing and creating more original IPs for both the UK and international markets.

Mr. Bloom’s Nursery first launched in 2011 and ran for three seasons. Faulks has also appeared in spinoffs Mr. Bloom’s Nursery: Get, Set, Grow! and Mr. Bloom: Here and There, as well as hosting the CBeebies ballet and making appearances in a number of other shows for the pubcaster. Beyond the small screen, Faulks has written two children’s pictures books (Watch out for Muddy Puddles and What Makes Me a Me?) and plans to publish more titles in 2022.
